Features, Amenities and Materials

Modelled after an ancient Greek village on a hillside near the shimmering Mediteranean Sea, the resort residences of Oceano are similarly built into the hilly landscape of El Yaque. With the changing heights of the architecture itself, combined with the many pathways and nooks to explore, Oceano mimics Greek village life, with all pathways leading not to the village square, but to the central social area that is the casual poolside restaurant, and Oceano's two swimming pools. Sitting in Oceano's version of the village square, sipping an early morning coffee, the views to the ocean are mesmerizing.
The architectural similarities to a Greek village are also apparent in the buildings themselves. Designed to resemble a cubic Greek abode, the residences of Oceano are also cubic, yet minimalist in design, and are white in colour. The adobe construction method favoured by the Greeks, which creates a breatheable house, that remains cool during the day, and is warm at night, is also used to build Oceano, albeit in its modern form. The exteriors of Oceano are wrapped in a textured, white treatment, to create the whitewash finish so favoured by the Greeks. A richly coloured and textured local grey stone is used to create a stylized arch around the stairwells of each building, creating a beautiful visual focal point.
The ancient Greeks as well as their modern day counter-parts, enjoyed a rich social life, with friends and family gathered around an abundant table, enjoying good wine and robust conversation. Oceano's restaurant called "Myth" will aspire to create an ambience that inspires lovers to whisper sweet nothings to each other, that will encourage families to discuss the day's events, and will welcome everyone to savour a cafe con leche after a lovely meal. For those wanting to prolong the evening, the outdoor martini bar, on the upstairs terrace will provide a spectacular view of the ocean while sipping a minty Kaipirinha or a martini.
Oceano's guests will also be invited to partake of the services of the spa and work out area. After a particularly invigorating workout, enjoying a soothing massage is a wonderful way to end the day.

Interiors

Tranquillo

Upon entering a residence that is appointed in the 'Tranquillo' style, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility becomes apparent in the choice of colours of the material finishes. A fresh white tiled floor cools ones sun-warmed feet, while the blue colours of the walls and accessories symbolizing the colour of the sea, add a soft freshness to the space. While the residence enjoys the clean lines of a modern interior, little niches throughout the space pay homage to the Greek inspired design concept. However, the focal point of each residence is not to be found inside, but rather outside. Each interior has been designed in such a way as to lead the eye to the ultimate focal point - the exterior views from the terrace.

Rustico
This interior is inspired by the most popular style on this island - the Margariteno style. The flooring, clad in the very popular terracotta tile, immediately lends a very relaxed and casual tropical island feel to the space, as each tile is slightly different in shape, and in texture. The colour palette of the walls and accessories is comprised of shades of beach sand, the tones of desert soil, and the saturation of colour that is found in tropical flora and fauna, all combined together to give this space the feel of Caribbean Chic.
